95 year old Edmund Lyngdoh; we call him Uncle Ed, is fit as a bull. He cultivates the world's best turmeric with his family of 34, using an organic farming method that he inherited from his forefathers. Apart from his 6 children and 14 grandchildren, he considers his produce as his babies and nurtures them with all his love. A straight-faced no nonsense person, his terms and conditions had always shied away corporations from buying his yield and is a blessing in disguise that he loves us and gives us all his yield. One of those terms include, not letting us carry raw turmeric in any form for processing. He would dry his turmeric in the soft mountain sun protecting it from rain and moisture for over a month and is completely against using dehydrating machines or drying turmeric in polluted city conditions or any kind of chemical processing.
